nba playoffs 2009: day 5
The best time for Chauncey Billups is the playoffs. Why? Because this is when he explodes and shows why he is called Mr. Bigshot. This is also a time where rookies also get an opportunity to show that they are mature enough and can handle the pressure and Courtney Lee showed us this. And of course, like all superstars, when you have a bad first game, you just use that as motivation and play better in the second game and this is what Mr. Dwayne Wade just did against the Hawks.
(2) Orlando Magic VS (7) Philadelphia 76ers
Series tied at 1-1
The Orlando Magic has had a hard time putting the ball in the basket in the first two games but thanks to rookie Courtney Lee, who has been the lone bright spot in the outside offense of the Magic, prevailed 96-87 in the second game against the 76ers. Lee had 24 points on 10-17 shooting from the field.
The 76ers still do not have the respect for Lee but look for them to adjust their defense and put at least a hand up against Lee. With this and with better shooting from Alston, Turkoglu and Lewis, it could free up Dwight Howard, who should have an easier time with Dalembert who is having trouble with his shoulder.
(4) Atlanta Hawks VS (5) Miami Heat
Series tied at 1-1
Dwayne Wade had a bad 1st game against the Atlanta Hawks but like any superstar he quickly bounced back and scored 33 points to help the Miami Heat win 108-93. He had 13 straight points to end the second quarter and it was just exciting to see vintage Wade. He finished with 6 three pointers and shooting 11-20 from the field.
“This is where amazing happens,” Wade said.
(2) Denver Nuggets VS (7) New Orleans Hornets
Denver leads series 2-0
Come playoff time, everyone should know that it is Chauncey Billups’ time as he was just fun to watch. He played with smarts and of course lots of made baskets to finish with 31 points with 4 three pointers and 11-11 from the stripe. He also had help from Carmelo Anthony who had 22 points and 9 assists.
No one could guard Billups even Chris Paul who had a size and strength mismatch with Billups. There was also a lot of help from the bench especially with the energy of the Birdman, Chris Andersen.
